stag + hen

Stag + Hen events

Typical Stag and Hen events last for a half day (3 to 3.5 hrs) and consist of the following:-

Vehicle familiarisation

This takes about an hour and involves all participants driving around our basic training area. The terrain is varied and is exciting consisting of rutted ground, humps and bumps and usually a plentiful supply of mud. This is an opportunity for the drivers to get used to the vehicles and to develop some basic off road driving skills. Groups will be allocated to vehicles and as each person drives the other group members can be passengers or can spectate and take photographs from a designated viewing area.

The Woodland Challenge

All drivers will then take it in turn to drive around our woodland trial area. This consists of a challenging route marked with flags which they must avoid. Touching a flag, stalling the vehicle or having to reverse results in penalty points. Squeezing the landrover between trees with inches to spare, negotiating steep slopes, ploughing through axle deep mud and over rocky ground will test all drivers to the limit. Whoever has the fewest penalty points at the end of the day can be considered the winner. The driver with the most points can buy the beer!

Safety note

Please note that at no time will any racing or time trials take place and that all participants must sign a declaration that they are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Any person suspected of being so will not be allowed to take part.
